Hi, I'm Tara! I'm a wedding and portrait photographer based in Paris, Texas. I love bright colors, a vintage, eclectic feel and whimsical ideas. My passions are weddings and child photography. My favorite color is green, my favorite movie is "The Man in the Moon," I'm NOT a morning person, I've been happily married for 6 years with a beautiful 1 year old little girl and I love to blog!!

Lee and Seth’s wedding was a dream! It was an AMAZING spring day and Lee and Seth are always so much fun to work with. Their first look was perfect. They were high school sweethearts and they are SO cute and funny together. ;) It helped that they were surrounded by the most loving friends and family you could ask for…. and Lee made an absolutely GORGEOUS bride. I think she looked like an old Hollywood movie star. :) I told her all she needed was the BRIGHT red lipstick. ;) Here are a few from their bright, fun, spring wedding!! Congratulations Lee and Seth!!

Meredith Dickens: Hello! First off, I want to say I LOVE your work! So fresh and beautiful! wow. Love it! I actually had a couple of questions for you.
First, I sometimes (especially with the white dress) have trouble with the white balance outdoors. Inside I use my expo disc and have no problems. I like cool feeling images and not ones that are too warm. And sometimes I end up turning the shadows of the white dress really blue. When I try to compinsate for the blue tones, I loose the creamy skin tones and they become too orange. I use Kevlin settings mostly outdoors. What white balance do you typically use outdoors?
Also, when you book a wedding client, do you always recommend that they see each other BEFORE the ceremony in order to get the best images possible? Here in Kentucky, a lot of the brides are VERY traditionaland do not wish to see the groom till after the ceremony. This gets tricky because most of them only want to spend 10 minutes in the sanctuary and not get any romantic shots outdoors or on location. How do you normally handle this?
I hate to bother you just was curious!

Wedding season has finally kicked off! If you’ve missed wedding posts.. don’t worry.. plenty of 2011 weddings coming to the blog soon. :) Haley and Billy kicked off the season with their beautiful peacock themed wedding in Mt. Vernon. I COULD be wrong, and if I am and left someone out, I apologize, but I THINK that Haley may be the first bride who’s high school senior pictures I also took. :) She was one of my seniors a couple of years ago and I was honored when she contacted me about shooting her wedding. I kinda feel like I’ve watched her grow up. Haley is so beautiful and she made a gorgeous bride. :)

If the bridesmaids look familiar, they should… these girls all graduated together.. and I took ALL of their senior pictures!!! It was nice shooting a wedding and already knowing of the bridesmaids by name. :) Even though I already knew quite a few people, I also met several new family members and friends of Haley and Billy.. including Caity and Haley (my two.. self proclaimed biggest fans.) Ya’ll are so silly!! ;)

Tiff did another amazing job with Haley’s makeup.

Congratulations again guys and welcome back from your honeymoon!!!! :D

Ashley + Keith – Bonham, Texas Wedding

It was FREEZING cold on Ashley and Keith’s wedding day so I think we managed to have the fastest bride and groom portraits of all time. ;) But they had a beautiful wedding at Boyd Baptist church in Bonham and a fabulous reception at Willowood Ranch in Bells. Congratulations Ashley and Keith!!
